Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer to lead design and testing of embedded systems, working with hardware, firmware, product development and reliability teams. You will own lifecycle management for electronic reference designs and architecture, and drive key milestones in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in systems/embedded engineering, and strong C programming skills with experience in power electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, embedded systems, power electronics or related field.
• Knowledge of firmware architecture and codebase re-use methodology.
• Expertise in C programming and microcontroller peripherals.
• Expertise in power electronics circuit design.
• Ability to read schematics and component data sheets; understanding digital interactions.
• Systems thinking and applied engineering mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to work under pressure; willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects.
• Lead the development of test plans and test cases for embedded systems.
• Manage lifecycles of electronic embedded system architectures and requirements, including hardware and firmware interfaces and configuration management.
• Support development and refinement of tools and processes for system engineering in an agile, high-velocity environment.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and risks clearly up the chain and across teams.
• Drive project milestones and key metrics with urgency and accountability.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and potentially lead a small team.
• Utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
