Job summary
The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will design, develop, and support the embedded software and firmware at the heart of Qnergy's products – from bare-metal microcontroller firmware to embedded Linux systems. This is a senior hands-on individual contributor role with broad ownership across the embedded stack, working closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.
As the company grows, this role has a path to grow into a technical leadership position for the embedded discipline.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ for resource-constrained environments.
- Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and FreeRTOS.
- Experience with embedded Linux platforms and device configuration.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain bare-metal and RTOS firmware for engine controllers and power electronics.
- Develop and support embedded Linux platforms and networked services.
- Own bootloaders, OTA updates, secure boot, and flash/file systems.
- Integrate fieldbus protocols (Modbus, CAN) and remote connectivity for telemetry.
- Debug complex issues using lab equipment and participate in hardware bring-up.
- Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and cloud teams on architecture and interfaces.
- Promote engineering practices: version control, code reviews, automated builds, CI/CD.
