Job summary

New Value Solutions seeks a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to own firmware design, development, maintenance, and optimization for high-performance embedded systems within a client’s R&D team. You will ensure software reliability, architecture integrity, and successful delivery of new and existing capabilities.

The role requires 15+ years of hands-on embedded firmware experience with Embedded C/C++, RTOS knowledge, and strong Linux/QNX proficiency. Onsite Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of data structures, RTOS, and microprocessors.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain firmware systems while preserving architecture integrity and user experience.
• Evaluate applications to identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, and scalability.
• Refactor and optimize embedded code for resource efficiency without compromising functionality.
• Lead selection and adoption of development tools, standards, and best practices.

• Expert‑level experience with Embedded C and C++.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, real‑time operating systems, and microprocessors.
• Strong experience working with QNX and Linux environments.
• Practical experience with memory technologies and interfaces including NAND, NOR, and DDR4.
• Working knowledge of embedded communication protocols including UART, I2C, SPI, and Ethernet.
• Experience developing multithreaded embedded applications.
• Strong understanding of the complete firmware development lifecycle, from concept through deployment.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience using IDEs, debugging emulators, and version control systems such as SVN and Git.
• Proven ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and deliver against project deadlines.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.
