Job summary

New Value Solutions seeks a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to own firmware design, development, maintenance, and optimization for high-performance embedded systems within a client’s R&D team. You will ensure software reliability, architecture integrity, and successful delivery of new and existing capabilities.

The role requires 15+ years of hands-on embedded firmware experience with Embedded C/C++, RTOS knowledge, and strong Linux/QNX proficiency. Onsite Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or CS or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years hands-on embedded firmware development.
• Expert-level Embedded C and C++ experience.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, RTOS, and microprocessors.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain firmware systems while preserving architecture integrity and user experience.
• Evaluate applications to identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, and scalability.
• Refactor and optimize embedded code for resource efficiency without compromising functionality.
• Lead selection and adoption of development tools, standards, and best practices.
• Conduct unit testing, debugging, validation, and troubleshooting prior to release.
• Investigate and resolve firmware issues reported during internal testing or by customers.
• Provide task estimates, progress reporting, and technical documentation.
• Contribute to formal verification and validation plans.
• Manage version control, firmware releases, and product updates.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to assess feasibility of new features.
• Develop and integrate critical embedded software components and device drivers.
• Take initiative to assume additional technical responsibilities as requirements evolve.
