Job summary

Simico-Ion Technology Group in Alameda, CA, part of ITW, designs advanced electronics for semiconductor and precision instrumentation. This onsite role focuses on embedded firmware, PCB design, and system integration across hardware and software domains.

You will develop low‑level C/C++ firmware, work with Altium designs, bring up new hardware, validate interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB), and contribute to documentation and test procedures in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded hardware and firmware experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ for real-time embedded systems.
• Familiar with Linux-based embedded platforms.
• Experience with Altium Designer and PCB design.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain low-level C/C++ firmware for MCUs and embedded processors.
• Design and review multi-layer PCBs; apply ESD protection and grounding practices.
• Bring up new hardware, debug with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Implement and test communication interfaces and drivers.
• Produce design docs, test procedures, and participate in reviews.
