Job summary

Google is hiring a Staff Software Developer, Android XR System Apps, to lead design and development of a next-generation UI for XR devices. You will work with cross-functional teams to build companion apps, tutorials, and settings for connected phones, with an emphasis on XR experiences.

You will help set technical direction, prototype new user experiences, and ensure reliable, scalable delivery. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and applying emerging spatial and AI tech to improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience in Kotlin, Java, or Swift.
• 5 years of experience in iOS or Android application development.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical roadmaps and validate product management direction.
• Design, guide and vet systems across mobile and XR apps and write code to solve problems.
• Ensure launches are delivered on time with high quality and testability.
• Mentor team and provide documentation and support for OEM integrations.
• Support UX with rapid prototyping and feasibility analysis.
