Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the embedded software team responsible for the company’s revolutionary linear generator. You will shape long-term technical roadmap, oversee lifecycle from design to delivery, and drive architectural governance.

You will supervise engineers, conduct performance reviews, and partner with product and QA to meet business goals. This hybrid role is based at our Menlo Park HQ with remote options and a competitive package.

Qualifications

15+ years embedded software development experience (real-time a plus).
4+ years of people management and project management delivering multiple commercial products.
Strong background in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban project management frameworks.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Define long-term technical roadmap and align deliverables with business goals.
Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of software engineers with regular performance reviews.
Oversee the full software development lifecycle, setting milestones and removing roadblocks.
Define org-wide standards for code quality, architecture, and system reliability.
Partner with product managers, executives, and QA to align technical goals with business needs.
Provide high-level architectural and technical feedback during design reviews.
Hire, onboard, and grow engineering talent within the team.
