Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join the X-BAT Embedded Software Team in Dallas, TX. You will develop high-quality C/C++ avionics software for UAV systems, focusing on real-time capabilities and safety-critical performance.

You will collaborate with hardware, GNC, autonomy AI, and GCS teams to design, develop, and verify software across sensors, sub-systems and payload interfaces, with emphasis on architecture, reviews, and continuous integration.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with embedded C/C++ in avionics or aerospace domains.
• Strong understanding of embedded platforms, BSPs and sensors interfacing.
• Experience delivering tested software for real-time, safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own complex software capabilities from design to production.
• Lead cross-functional teams to implement avionics software features.
• Design and review software architecture, interfaces and test plans.
• Integrate software with firmware, autonomy AI and Ground Control Stations.
• Develop prototypes and validate concepts through simulations and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
