Job summary

Shield AI Inc. is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer for the X-BAT Embedded Software Team to develop complex avionics software that merges hardware and embedded applications for cutting-edge UAVs.

You will work in a high-pace, cross-functional environment with program stakeholders, electrical, GNC, systems, test, and autonomy teams to design and implement software using C/C++ and modern aerospace sensors. Security clearance is desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong embedded software development experience in C/C++.
• Experience with embedded systems, BSPs or similar components.
• Understanding of computer architecture, OS and network fundamentals.
• Ability to produce architecture, detailed designs, and test plans.
• Track record of delivering high-quality software in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to obtain a S//SAR level security clearance desired.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality C/C code for X-Bat aircraft with emphasis on reliability and safety.
• Participate in architecture, design and code reviews.
• Integrate software from multiple departments including firmware, Autonomy AI, and GCS.
• Develop interfaces to avionics sensors, sub-systems and payloads.
• Support updates to software system architecture and future designs.
• Create tools to improve deployment, testing and data analysis in CI/CD workflows.
• Prototype and validate critical concepts via hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
