Job summary

CesiumAstro in Melbourne, FL, is seeking a software engineer to develop embedded and high‑reliability systems for space-grade products. You will design, implement, test, and support software across microcontrollers, BSPs, and Linux-based environments.

Ideal candidates have a BS in CS/EE, 5+ years in embedded software, experience with RTOS, C/C++, and aerospace-grade products, plus strong communication and collaboration with hardware teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with hands-on development and troubleshooting of embedded hardware; API design for interfacing with FPGAs.
• Experience with products for aerospace applications.
• Programming experience in C or C++.
• Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking RTOS (RT-Linux desirable).
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools and defect tracking.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing software for embedded devices and systems, from requirements to production and deployment.
• Designing, developing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting system software.
• Reviewing code and system designs.
• Analyzing code for efficiency, stability, and scalability.
• Integrating and validating new product designs.
• Supporting software quality assurance and optimizing I/O performance.
• Providing post-production/in-orbit customer support.
• Interfacing with hardware design and development engineers.
