Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a software engineer to design and implement embedded software for aerospace-grade products, spanning low-level drivers to high-level applications. You will contribute across the development lifecycle, from concept through production and in-orbit support.

The ideal candidate has a BS/MS in CS/EE/CE, at least 5 years in embedded software, strong C/C++, experience with RTOS and real-time Linux, and knowledge of FPGA interfacing. Excellent communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in CS, EE, or CE.
• 5+ years in software development.
• Hands-on development and troubleshooting of embedded hardware.
• Experience with aerospace products.
• C or C++ programming.
• Experience with preemptive RTOS and real-time Linux desirable.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools and peer reviews.
• Knowledge of real-time coding techniques and IP protocols.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing software for embedded devices from requirements to production.
• Developing, testing, debugging, and documenting system software.
• Reviewing code and system designs.
• Analyzing code for efficiency, stability, and scalability.
• Integrating and validating new product designs.
• Providing post-production/in-orbit customer support.
• Interfacing with hardware design and development engineers.
• Assessing third-party software.
