Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer III in Los Angeles, CA to design, develop and validate embedded software for a remotely controlled rover. You will lead coding, testing, and field deployments, collaborating with scientists, PMs, and engineers to define system requirements and autonomous capabilities.

The role requires a BS in CS/Robotics/CE/EE and 3+ years in embedded software, with C/C++ on bare-metal platforms, experience with sensors, Git, RTOS, and safety-critical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Robotics/CE/EE and 3+ years of embedded software experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ on bare-metal platforms with unit testing.
• Experience writing sensor drivers and safety-critical software.
• Knowledge of RTOS, Git, and digital communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead coding, testing and validation of vehicle control software.
• Manage software field deployments on-site and remotely.
• Derive and own software system requirements and schedules.
• Evaluate system design for robust autonomous capabilities.
• Collaborate with scientists, managers, and program teams on new product development.
• Write requirements and specification documents.
