Engtal is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop high-performance, safety-critical software that directly controls complex industrial systems in the United States. The role involves architecture, firmware development, and lifecycle ownership from development to deployment.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of engineering experience, with strong proficiency in C/C++, Rust, and embedded software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another relevant STEM discipline.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience developing software in C/C++ and/or Rust.
• Strong experience with embedded software, firmware, or low-level systems development.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop safety-critical embedded software for complex industrial systems.
• Build low-level firmware using C, C++ and Rust.
• Develop software to control electromechanical actuators and process high-speed sensor signals.
• Design robust control architectures, state machines, and data acquisition systems.
• Implement deterministic and fault-tolerant control logic for mission-critical equipment.
• Own embedded software throughout the full lifecycle, from initial development through deployment.
