Wabtec is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer III to join the Bus Solutions team in Buffalo Grove, IL. You will drive embedded software development for controllers and sensors within transit bus systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

The role requires a strong background in Linux, C/C++, RTOS, and debugging tools, with experience in APQP/NPD, DFMEA, and system integration. On-site work with occasional travel is expected.

Competenze

• 6+ years of relevant experience and ability to lead small engineering projects.
• Working knowledge of embedded software design and manufacturing principles.
• Experience with APQP/NPD Stage Gate, DFMEA, RCA/8D, and engineering analysis.

Mansioni

• Design and develop embedded software systems for controllers and sensors.
• Lead design decisions to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Support designs from concept through production launch.
• Participate in DFMEA sessions and validation planning per APQP/NPD processes.
• Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
