Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Level 5 to design, develop, test, and debug software for embedded and real-time systems used in national security programs. You will collaborate with Systems Engineering, Hardware, and Digital Engineering in an Agile environment. The role requires a STEM advanced degree and extensive experience in C/C++, VxWorks, and GPU-accelerated applications using CUDA.

A U.S. Government Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in a STEM discipline with significant software development experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required at time of application.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ with experience in embedded/real‑time systems and CUDA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, integrate, test, and debug software for end-user customers.
• Support architecture, development, and lifecycle management of embedded and real‑time systems.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Hardware, and Integration & Test in an Agile environment.
• Analyze system capabilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to program intent and data acquisition.
• Work in a fast-paced lab with rapid development cycles.
