Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong C and C++ proficiency for embedded/RT applications.
• Hands-on experience developing, integrating, and debugging software on embedded Linux.
• Experience with hardware interfaces, device drivers, or low-level software.
• Experience using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or debuggers.
• Experience with Git, cross-compilation toolchains, and automated builds.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded C/C++ software for navigation processing, device interfaces, middleware, and system control.
• Develop and debug software on embedded Linux platforms, including interactions with device drivers, OS services, and hardware interfaces.
• Integrate GPS/GNSS receivers, IMUs, and other navigation inputs; implement sensor-fusion and estimation functions.
• Diagnose system-level issues involving software timing, sensor data, electrical interfaces, and hardware behavior.
• Support hardware bring-up and software integration in lab environments.
• Develop automated tests, diagnostic tools, and scripts to improve software integration and regression testing.
• Support simulation, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer — R-EGI Program

Position Overview

IS4S is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer todevelop, integrate, and test software for the R-EGI program. R-EGI bringstogether GPS/GNSS, inertial sensors, and other navigation capabilities tosupport resilient positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) for militaryaircraft.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who is comfortabledeveloping C/C++ software on embedded Linux systems, bringing up software on hardware,and solving problems at the boundary between software, sensors, and avionics.The engineer will work closely with systems, navigation, hardware, and testteams through integration and qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Design,develop, test, and maintain embedded C/C++ software for navigationprocessing, device interfaces, middleware, and system control.
• Developand debug software on embedded Linux platforms, including interactionswith device drivers, operating system services, and hardware interfaces.
• IntegrateGPS/GNSS receivers, IMUs, and other navigation inputs; work withnavigation engineers to implement and evaluate sensor-fusion andestimation functions.
• Diagnosesystem-level issues involving software timing, sensor data, electricalinterfaces, and hardware behavior.
• Supporthardware bring-up and software integration in laboratory and systemintegration lab environments.
• Developautomated tests, diagnostic tools, and scripts that improve softwareintegration, regression testing, and troubleshooting.
• Supportsimulation, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop testing,including evaluation of performance when GPS is degraded or unavailable.
• Translatesystem and interface requirements into software designs, test procedures,and verification evidence.
• Participatein code reviews, configuration management, defect resolution, and softwarereleases.
• Supporttechnical reviews and program milestones, including PDR, CDR, TRR, andqualification activities.
• Mentorless experienced engineers and help the team resolve complex embeddedsoftware issues.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor'sdegree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,or a closely related technical field.
• 8 ormore years of embedded software engineering experience.
• StrongC and C++ proficiency for embedded or real-time applications.
• Hands-onexperience developing, integrating, and debugging software on embeddedLinux systems.
• Experienceworking with hardware interfaces, device drivers, or low-level softwareand diagnosing hardware/software integration issues.
• Experienceusing laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, ordebuggers to troubleshoot embedded systems.
• Experiencewith software requirements, interface definitions, verification, andconfiguration management.
• Experiencewith Git, cross-compilation toolchains, and automated builds.
• Abilityto obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experiencewith military aviation PNT systems, GPS/GNSS receivers, IMUs, inertialnavigation systems, or integrated GPS/INS solutions.
• Experiencewith navigation estimation, Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, or operationin GPS-degraded and GPS-denied environments.
• Experiencewith aircraft avionics interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553 or ARINC 429.
• Experiencedeveloping and integrating systems that use modern embedded processingplatforms, such as the AMD/Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC.
• Experiencewith real-time Linux, VxWorks, INTEGRITY, or another real-time operatingsystem.
• Experiencewith software-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop testing and systemintegration labs.
• Proficiencyin Python for test automation, data analysis, or diagnostic tools.
• Abilityto read electrical schematics, interface diagrams, and hardwaredocumentation.
• Experiencesupporting formal software qualification or airworthiness activities.
• ActiveDoD Secret clearance or higher.
