Job summary

Integrated Solutions for Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and test embedded software for the R-EGI program, combining GPS/GNSS, inertial sensors, and other navigation capabilities for military aircraft.

This hands-on role emphasizes C/C++ on embedded Linux, hardware bring-up, and solving software/sensor/avionics integration challenges across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 8+ years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong C and C++ proficiency for embedded/RT applications.
• Hands-on experience on embedded Linux systems.
• Hardware interfaces, device drivers, or low-level software experience.
• Proficient with lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers).
• Experience with Git, cross-compilation toolchains, and automated builds.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded C/C++ software for navigation processing and system control.
• Develop and debug software on embedded Linux platforms and hardware bring-up.
• Integrate GPS/GNSS, IMUs, and sensor inputs with navigation algorithms.
• Diagnose system-level software timing and hardware interfaces issues.
• Support hardware bring-up and software integration in lab environments.
• Develop automated tests, diagnostics, and scripts to improve testing and troubleshooting.
• Support software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing and qualification.
