Infleqtion in Chicago seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design high-performance software that blends classical computing resources with next-generation quantum hardware. You will optimize latency and throughput across CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, accelerators, and interconnects in a distributed environment.

You will collaborate with engineers and scientists across software and hardware domains, develop maintainable code in C++, C, Rust, or Python, and work in Linux.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience
• Strong programming experience in C++, C, Rust, or Python
• Experience in Linux environments
• Understanding of concurrency, memory, networking, data movement, latency, and throughput

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain high-quality software for quantum-classical computing systems
• Coordinate computation across classical and quantum resources
• Meet latency, throughput, bandwidth, and reliability requirements
• Integrate software with CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, accelerators, and high-speed interconnects
• Analyze performance, identify bottlenecks, and improve scalability
• Develop tooling, benchmarks, and observability for complex systems
• Troubleshoot across applications, OS, drivers, runtimes, networking, firmware, and hardware
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and partners
• Contribute to reviews and technical docs
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers
• Prototype new technologies for evolving quantum HPC ecosystem
