Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Services Software Team. You will participate in requirements, design, development, testing, and documentation of software for defense applications, including signal processing and networking innovations.

You will work with project managers and engineers across teams, adhering to software development practices and DevOps improvements, with occasional travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Experience developing in modern programming languages (e.g. C++, Java) in a Linux environment.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and development of software solutions.
• Typically requires a degree in STEM and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements, design, development and testing of software.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain software configuration management.
• Advance the software development environment and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Create and deliver technical presentations related to design approaches.
