Job summary
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Principal Software Engineer to join the Platform Services Software Team in Cedar Rapids. You will develop software for defense applications, including signal processing and networking, in a Linux environment using C++/Java.
The role emphasizes collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineers, DevOps practices, and the ability to translate requirements into robust software solutions while maintaining cost and schedule targets. Some travel is required.
Qualifications
- Experience with C++/Java in Linux environments or similar
- Proven ability to prototype and rapidly develop software solutions
- Degree in STEM or an advanced related field with relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements, design, development and testing of software and related products.
- Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers across disciplines.
- Support DevOps practices and continuous improvement of the software environment.
- Travel up to 15% for program needs.
