Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Senior Engineer for the Machine Technology Platform Group. You will design, develop, and test software for Caterpillar machine subsystems, delivering features with iterative development and high-quality code.

You will work on production-quality C/C++ software, collaborate across embedded software, validation, and systems engineering teams, and contribute to architecture discussions to ensure design consistency.

Qualifications

• Experience with the software development life cycle and design specifications.
• Embedded software development for RTOS and Linux environments.
• Proficiency with GoogleTest-based unit testing and embedded build workflows.
• Scripting and debugging skills (Python, Bash etc.).

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze user and client needs to define software requirements for components and subsystems used across multiple products.
• Promote design consistency across products by contributing to architecture discussions.
• Identify common issues, risks, and considerations throughout the development life cycle.
• Develop production-quality C/C++ software, including design, documentation, coding, QA, and validation.
