Job summary

Columbus McKinnon Corporation in Wisconsin is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop embedded software for industrial automation controls and wireless communications. You will collaborate with engineers on New Product Development teams to create architecture and implement robust code in C and C++.

Requires 6+ years in embedded software, ARM with RTOS, and experience with USB, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and wireless protocols. Occasional travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; M.S. preferred.
6+ years of embedded C and C++ experience on ARM with RTOS or bare-metal.
Experience with USB, RS232, SPI, I2C, CAN; Bluetooth/BLE or Wi‑Fi for wireless.

Responsibilities

Develop architecture and designs to meet the product requirements.
Design and develop embedded software using C, C++.
Conduct unit, integration, and system tests.
Design and implement code in a controlled workflow using JIRA, version control, and code reviews.
Drive innovative designs based on input from product management and end customers.
Travel up to 10% to other CMCO locations and customer sites.
