Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for our Global Engineering Center in Puerto Rico. Join the Military Avionics group to design, develop, integrate, and verify software for Flight Management & Controls in a hands-on, collaborative setting.

The role sits in Aguadilla, PR with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). You will work with top engineers to push the boundaries of aerospace systems while developing solutions that truly matter.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Support Software Development Lifecycle activities (Requirements, Design, Code, Testing, etc.).
• Perform in a cross-functional agile team to deliver program milestones.

The Global Engineering Center in Puerto Rico is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, to join our Military Avionics organization. We are in search of a strong, passionate and action-oriented candidate with a collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

This person will be part of the Flight Management & Controls team. In this role you will be responsible for design, development, integration and verification activities in a hands-on work environment to address and implement Military Avionics solutions. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience mentoring junior team members
• Airborne Software development/testing experience
• RTCA/DO-178 (or similar) certification-based experience
• Knowledge in AGILE/Waterfall methods
• Communication Protocols experience: ARINC 429, MIL-STD 1553, etc.
• Programming Language experience: C/C++, Python, Ada 95 etc.
• Knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, LynxOS, etc.
• Experience with Tools/Processes: GitLab, SVN, Jira, JAMA, Confluence, DOORS, etc.
