Job summary

RTX, Collins Aerospace, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer I for the Military Avionics organization in Aguadilla, PR. You will join the Flight Management & Controls team and contribute to design, development, integration and verification of avionics software in a hands-on environment.

The role is hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per the manager’s schedule. US citizenship required; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship required for access to program information.

Responsibilities

• Support Software Development Lifecycle activities (Requirements, Design, Code, Testing, etc.).

The Global Engineering Center in Puerto Rico is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer I, to join our Military Avionics organization. We are in search of a strong, passionate and action-oriented candidate with a collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

This person will be part of the Flight Management & Controls team. In this role you will be responsible for design, development, integration and verification activities in a hands-on work environment to address and implement Military Avionics solutions. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

• Support programs on Software Development Lifecycle activities (Requirements, Design, Code, Testing, etc.).

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience


• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).


• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Airborne Software development/testing experience


• RTCA/DO-178 (or similar) certification-based experience


• Knowledge in AGILE/Waterfall methods


• Communication Protocols experience: ARINC 429, MIL-STD 1553, etc.


• Programming Language experience: C/C++, Python, Ada 95 etc.


• Knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, LynxOS, etc.


• Experience with Tools/Processes: GitLab, SVN, Jira, JAMA, Confluence, DOORS, etc.
