Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to design, develop, and maintain aerospace software in a cross-functional team. The role emphasizes DO-178 lifecycle compliance, testing, and collaboration with engineering and stakeholders.

Proficiency in C/C++ for avionics, experience with TAWS/EGPWS, and certification activities is essential. This on-site position in Phoenix may involve up to 10% travel and reports to the Senior Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years in Software Engineering/Development.
• Expertise in C/C++ embedded engineering in aerospace/avionics.
• Experience with TAWS/EGPWS is a plus.
• Familiarity with DO-178 B/C, DO-160 standards and processes.
• Experience with avionics development tools: Jira, Bitbucket, DOORS, CC/CQ, TeamCenter.
• Experience supporting certification activities (TSO, STC, Type Certification).
• Software architecture experience and hardware consulting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
• Support embedded software development using C++.
• Follow DO-178 B/C lifecycle guidelines for projects.
• Conduct software testing and debugging to ensure high quality deliverables.
• Support deployment and operation of complex systems to enhance safety and efficiency.
