Job summary

Caterpillar in Irving, TX is seeking an accomplished Embedded Software Senior Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and validate embedded software on AI accelerated platforms for high-performance systems.

The role requires deep Linux-based embedded expertise, C++, and experience with AI toolchains, inference, and edge workloads. You will collaborate across hardware, systems, and platform teams to deliver production-ready software while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years in platform architecture, edge computing, and embedded systems.
Experience with edge AI frameworks and hardware acceleration.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux software for AI accelerated platforms.
Develop high-performance C++ components for embedded and real-time systems.
Integrate and optimize AI inference pipelines on edge devices and GPUs.
Collaborate with hardware, AI/ML, and platform teams for end-to-end readiness.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical reviews.
Debug complex system-level issues across hardware and software stacks.
