Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking embedded software engineers to design, develop, integrate, and test embedded controls for Airborne Imaging systems.

You will work in a cross-functional team to develop EO/IR solutions and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software to meet performance requirements. The role emphasizes collaboration across engineering disciplines, hands-on debugging and testing, and contributing to secure, reliable software throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field plus 6+ years of experience; or graduate degree with 4+ years of experience.
• Experience across full software design cycle including design reviews and architecture reviews.
• Experience in hardware-software integration and embedded development.
• DevSecOps and test automation experience using Python or similar languages.
• Experience with APIs/BSPs/Drivers; OpenGL; health and status; programming for Linux, Windows & QNX.
• Experience with C++ in systems development; understanding software/hardware co-design and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and test sensor control software.
• Utilize OMS, UCI, XML Schema, reference designs and other standards.
• Use MS Visual Studio, QNX, Linux, and XMLSpy tools for development.
• Perform debugging and unit testing of software products.
• Model, simulate and analyze complex software systems.
• Investigate and resolve performance issues in large systems.
• Coordinate with other engineers to test products and resolve interface issues.
• Participate in reviews across specification, design, code and test.
