Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead embedded software efforts on custom hardware including FPGA SoCs. You will architect, develop, and integrate scalable, high‑assurance embedded systems in the AWS technology ecosystem.

You will guide cross‑functional teams, develop in Rust, build 100G+ solutions, and drive code quality while mentoring peers. A TS/SCI clearance is required for this role and Arlington area is a primary location.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• 5+ years of programming with C/C++/Rust.
• Current US Government TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in developing high assurance software systems.
• Develop embedded software using Rust and integrate with libraries for 100G+ solutions.
• Develop low-level drivers for ARM and RISC-V targets and Linux kernels.
• Translate cryptographic requirements into software/hardware specs.
• Lead design decisions and tradeoffs for customer architectures.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
