Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Embedded System Security Engineer to support DoD East Florida programs, focusing on security definition, RMF, ATO, and vulnerability management for aerospace systems. This onsite role in Largo, FL requires active SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship.

You will work with cross-functional teams to design secure architectures, decompose requirements, and ensure secure software and hardware integration across multiple contracts.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• ACTIVE and transferrable SECRET clearance
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Direct experience in System Security Engineering
• Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) applied to mission systems used in disconnected DoD environments
• Experience with technical security concepts, technologies, and implementations
• Technical writing skills and ability to develop security documentation
• Experience interpreting system models, diagrams, and architectures to assess security risks

Responsibilities

• Support system certification and accreditation efforts, including RMF Authorization To Operate (ATO) and NSA Type 1 Cryptographic Certification
• Support cybersecurity requirement decomposition, allocation, implementation, and verification utilizing system engineering practices
• Analyze system requirements, models, and diagrams to identify potential security vulnerabilities
• Participate in system design discussions and provide security engineering input
• Collaborate with systems engineers and developers to integrate security considerations into system design
• Work as part of a team, contributing to a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
• Maintain awareness of evolving security threats and industry best practices
• Participate in Security focused-System Verification and Validation including writing test plans and procedures, performing test conduct, and providing remediation recommendation analysis
