RISE Robotics in Somerville, MA is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software powering our robotic lifting systems. You will collaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-performance software.

The role emphasizes real-time control, algorithms, testing, and documentation, with a hybrid work schedule 3–4 days on-site in Somerville and a strong focus on motion-control technology and safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electromechanical product software development in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with controls, brushless DC motors, and motion control systems.
• Ability to read and understand datasheets, schematics, and production diagrams.
• Familiarity with embedded interfaces: CAN, SPI, I2C, UART.
• Proven ability to work independently on robust, well-documented software modules.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for robotic lift systems.
