Two Six Technologies in Arlington, VA is seeking a Principal Software Reverse Engineer to lead vulnerability research on complex embedded systems alongside top-tier CNO developers and hardware engineers. You will develop tools and PoCs, mentor juniors, and guide project direction for national security initiatives.

The role emphasizes deep low-level programming in C/C++, Python, firmware analysis, and research leadership in a fast-growing government-focused team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may substitute.
• Extensive experience developing, debugging, and scripting in C/C++ and Python within Linux environments with a focus on low-level programming and memory management for reverse engineering.
• Experience with reverse engineering using tools such as IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, or Ghidra.
• Expertise in firmware analysis, emulation, fuzzing, obfuscation, wireless protocols, and file system forensics.
• Experience leading a team of engineers and researchers.

Responsibilities

• Perform vulnerability research on complex embedded systems
• Tackle challenging technical problems with limited prior knowledge
• Develop tools to automate tasks in reverse engineering
• Productize PoCs or hand off results to developers for productization
• Provide technical leadership and interface with clients to determine program direction
• Mentor junior team members through knowledge-sharing and code reviews
