Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to elevate software quality within the Vehicle Mechatronics Embedded Controls (VMEC) organization. The role involves agile practices, collaboration with product owners, developers, and tool owners, and leading a team of testers to craft and execute effective software behavior tests for GM embedded controllers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
5+ years of embedded software development or test experience.
Proficient with Python or other scripting languages (R, C, C++, MATLAB, VBA).
Experience reading and debugging source code in C/C++ language.
Experience with JIRA, GIT, Rhapsody, Optimus and Scaled Agile Framework.

Responsibilities

Act as a subject matter expert for a Solution Quality Assurance Team and mentor new team members.
Develop test plans and lead test case development to assess software at the solution level.
Develop robust continuous automation methods using tools such as Robot Framework.
Understand functional, safety, and compliance requirements and implement appropriate test plans.
Execute test plans on hardware and software-in-the-loop simulators and vehicles.
Identify and resolve software problems and contribute to the knowledge base.
