Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking Senior Embedded Platform Software Engineers to join our foundation software team in Melbourne, FL or Cedar Rapids, IA. You will develop platform control software for secure, deterministic operation of advanced SoC devices, contribute to early-boot software, platform security, hardware bring-up, and system health monitoring, with growth into technical leadership.

Candidates should have STEM degree with 5+ years experience in embedded systems, strong C/C++, DO-178B/C

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience developing embedded software for complex SoCs or custom ASIC architectures.
• Experience in C/C++ and embedded systems design.
• Experience with DO-178B/C high assurance levels.
• Experience board bring-up, HALs, diagnostics and low-level drivers.
• Understanding of ASIC/SoC architectures including registers and interrupts.
• Experience with RTOS environments

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded platform software for processor control and power management.
• Implement secure boot orchestration and platform trust enforcement.
• Design and bring up low-level drivers and HALs.
• Work in virtual development environments and FPGA prototypes.
• Coordinate with subcontract suppliers for bootloader and early-boot software.
• Review and integrate supplier deliverables into the platform stack.
• Collaborate with OS and BSP vendors to configure RTOS components.
• Debug and root-cause hardware/software interaction issues.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated tests.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster team collaboration.
