Envisage Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Linux Application Engineer to join our Software Engineering team in Foster City, CA. You will build, optimize, and maintain high-performance embedded Linux applications and services powering next-generation vehicle platforms.

Collaborating across software, platform, hardware, and vehicle engineering, you will tackle integration challenges, drive performance, and implement observability and diagnostics to ensure robust release cycles.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python; hands-on Linux development.
• Experience developing services for embedded Linux environments.
• Familiarity with multithreading, IPC, networking, memory management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded Linux applications and services.
• Lead application architecture for reliability and performance.
• Design interfaces between applications, platform services, and vehicle systems.
• Develop new product features and resolve critical issues identified during testing.
• Benchmark and optimize system performance across CPU, memory, I/O, and latency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues and crashes.
• Implement observability, diagnostics, logging, and health monitoring.
• Collaborate across application, hardware, infrastructure, and vehicle engineering domains.
