Amazon is seeking a Sr Embedded Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and integrate next-generation devices. You will collaborate with customers, system architects, program managers, and hardware engineers to implement and troubleshoot kernel drivers and BSP for our devices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of operating system internals including process scheduling, memory management, interrupt handling, and device I/O.
• Experience with Linux kernel performance profiling and optimization across the full stack (user space, kernel space, driver layer, and hardware interfaces).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C/C++ code for embedded systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in kernel drivers, BSP, and OS framework integration.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to problems found during product integration and in the field.
• Develop and implement low-level embedded software including kernel device drivers, network stack components, platform porting, and other system-level programming activities.
• Develop and customize BSP, graphics drivers, and platform ports for next-generation devices.
• Develop, port, and test software and firmware layers within the Linux kernel and associated frameworks.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and test automation.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
