Job summary

Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, is seeking an Embedded and Electrical Engineering Manager to lead hardware and embedded software development for robotics platforms, from architecture through manufacturing.

You will direct a multidisciplinary team spanning electrical engineering and firmware, drive safety architecture, and align compute, power electronics, and software with product milestones, delivering robust, cost-efficient systems for real‑world use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Engineering or related field is required.
• 10+ years of electrical/embedded experience with at least 3 years in people leadership.
• Experience leading full product development cycles for complex electromechanical systems.
• Proven BOM cost-down success via PCBA consolidation and design optimization.
• Experience with manufacturing scale-up from prototype to volume production.
• Experience managing relationships with PCB fabricators, contract manufacturers, suppliers, and labs.
• Technical depth to participate in architecture and design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a multidisciplinary hardware organization spanning electrical engineering, embedded software, test engineering, and technician functions.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent with inclusive hiring pipelines.
• Own the hardware development program plan, schedule, and risk management across parallel workstreams.
• Define and communicate the electronics development roadmap and quarterly priorities.
• Align embedded software investments with program milestones across real-time control and diagnostics.
• Drive safety architecture delivery with cross-functional stakeholders and review gates.
• Coordinate and align embedded software architecture decisions with hardware teams.
• Manage contract manufacturers and bring-up for electrical subsystems and PCB assembly.
• Own reliability and environmental test programs, coordinating with test teams.
• Serve as integration point across mechanical, software, and science teams to resolve cross-functional dependencies.
• Manage vendor relationships for PCBs, wiring, sensors, batteries, and charging electronics.
