Job summary

Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain embedded systems powering our robots. You will work on RTOS-based firmware, sensor integration, and motor control to deliver safe, reliable performance.

You'll collaborate with hardware and robotics engineers, write clear documentation, and contribute to a team pushing robotics forward by building tightly integrated hardware-software systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in embedded firmware for robotics.
• Strong knowledge of RTOS concepts and real-time constraints.
• Experience with CAN and RS-485 communication protocols.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firmware for robotic control platforms.
• Design and optimize software for RTOS such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or Zephyr.
• Implement CAN/RS-485 communication for motor control and sensors.
• Analyze system performance and latency; use Python for testing and data analysis.
• Collaborate with hardware and robotics engineers to integrate sensors and actuators.
• Troubleshoot issues and create clear firmware documentation.
