Job summary

Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead power and motion control system design for our robotic platforms. You will define the electrical architecture, drive battery development, and ensure robust EMI/EMC and thermal performance.

You will collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams on real‑time control strategies, support prototype bring‑up, and mentor junior engineers while shaping the technical foundation for safe, delightful robots.

Qualifications

Experience with functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
Strong PCB design and layout skills with an understanding of high‑power circuits, signal integrity, and thermal constraints.
Experience with lithium‑ion battery systems, BMS hardware/software, and power distribution architectures.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including experience with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and motor test benches.
Proficiency with embedded system interfaces (FDCAN, SPI, I2C, RS485, USB) and experience working with STM32 microcontrollers.
Knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation techniques and compliance standards for industrial or robotics systems.
Experience working in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other real‑time electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Lead PCB design, layout, and validation for power distribution, motor drivers, embedded systems, and sensor integration.
Architect and optimize power distribution and battery architecture to support high‑performance actuators and real‑time workloads.
Develop and refine lithium‑ion battery systems and high‑efficiency power architectures.
Ensure EMI/EMC compliance, signal integrity, and thermal design for a compact robotic system.
Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams on real‑time control strategies and integration.
Define electrical architecture for real‑time control, networking, and diagnostics with high‑speed, low‑latency communication.
Support bring‑up, debugging, and testing of prototype robots with firmware and mechanical teams.
Source components and oversee production with vendors and contract manufacturers.
Mentor junior engineers, drive design reviews, and promote electrical engineering best practices.
