Job summary

Copeland is seeking an Engineer Hardware in Kennesaw, GA to design embedded hardware and collaborate with software teams to meet strict product specifications. You will read datasheets, understand schematics, and support all phases of design from concept through production, aiding the supply chain and coordinating with contract manufacturers.

The role requires hands-on prototyping, detailed troubleshooting, and strong communication to ensure high-quality, reliable HVAC/R solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years of cadence systems experience.
• 3+ years working knowledge of design concepts for RS485 networks, Ethernet, Microcontrollers, USB, and 24VAC power supplies
• Experience with various processors and micros including IMX8, MSP430
• Experience with Analog outputs: 0-10VDC and 4 to 20mA,
• Experience with Digital outputs: Mechanical Relays and Solid State Relays
• Experience with Analog inputs, transducers, resistive temperature sensors
• Soldering skills for modifying prototypes – package size down to 0201
• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design embedded hardware and work with software team to meet product specification requirements under supervision of experienced engineering personnel.
• Ability to read and comprehend electronic component data sheets.
• Ability to read and comprehend schematics for existing microcontroller-based designs.
• Work with development team to provide continuing engineering support during all phases of a design through the life of the product.
• Assist production with choosing alternate components for supply chain
• Provide general support to contract board manufacturer, production, and product management
• Work on engineering projects as assigned.
