Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and verification of embedded electronic systems for medical products at our Oakland, CA facility. You will own analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power-management architectures, drive PCB development, and guide hardware bring-up and verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development, preferably in regulated environments.
• Expertise in analog, digital, mixed-signal, low-power and power-management circuit design.
• Strong experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems architecture, and PCB development.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and design release processes.
• Experience with I2C, UART, SPI, USB, BLE interfaces and lab test equipment.
• Ability to communicate tradeoffs clearly across engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, analysis, and verification of analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF, and power-management circuits for medical and manufacturing applications.
• Own schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM development, component selection and release activities.
• Apply DFM, DFT, signal/power integrity, EMI/EMC, reliability, and safety best practices.
• Lead hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, characterization, and verification testing of prototype and production electronics.
• Integrate and test communications interfaces (I2C/UART/SPI/USB/BLE) as required by product.
• Specify and troubleshoot components including transducers, displays, motors, sensors, batteries, and chargers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust electronic designs.
• Lead design reviews, risk analysis, FMEA, verification planning, and design documentation.
