Job summary
Comcast is seeking an experienced firmware engineer to architect microservices or APIs and to collaborate with cross-functional teams in delivering scalable software solutions. You will mentor junior developers, participate in firmware guilds, and drive best practices in code health and maintainability.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 7–10 years of experience with embedded systems, C/C++, and Yocto Project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
- 7+ years of experience developing embedded software and firmware.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ with production firmware experience.
- Hands-on experience with embedded Linux systems.
- Experience with Yocto Project to create and maintain embedded Linux distributions.
- Experience with hardware/software integration and device drivers.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices.
Responsibilities
- Firmware development for XM4, Blackbird, and BigBuddy initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and support onboarding.
- Drive CI/CD improvements and firmware standardization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine deliverables.
- Design and implement APIs, backend services, and automation tasks.
- Ensure scalable, secure cloud-ready applications.
