Job summary

Comcast is seeking an Engineer 6, Software Development & Engineering to lead development of scalable, secure software across distributed systems and cloud-native environments. You will mentor engineers, guide architecture, and oversee releases to ensure on-time delivery.

This role emphasizes Linux/C/C++, Go and Python, distributed networking know-how, and collaboration with QA and cross-functional teams to ship high-impact solutions for our customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on software engineering in Linux-based systems using C, C++, Go, and/or Python.
• Experience designing or supporting large-scale distributed carrier-grade networks (CMTS/vCMTS, DOCSIS/PON).
• Strong cloud-native experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and related tooling.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead software solution development to meet strategic goals and user expectations.
• Integrate applications, improve scalability and security, and perform system analyses.
• Mentor technical staff and oversee the software release process with QA collaboration.
• Provide technical leadership from architecture to deployment and operations.
