Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. based in Playa Vista, CA, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team.

You will design, develop, and own software that enables spacecraft operation 24/7, working with mission operations, GNC, and hardware teams to turn concepts into flight-ready software. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in C/C++ for embedded systems, experience with RTOS and hardware integration, and a passion for solving hard aerospace problems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years writing C/C++ for embedded systems
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or equivalent
• Strong proficiency in C++, Python, or Rust
• Experience with embedded software on spacecraft or similar hardware
• Comfort with hardware/software integration and debugging tools

Responsibilities

• Develop low level software configuring processor peripherals and interfaces
• Write and debug device drivers for sensors, actuators, and components
• Implement onboard algorithms including fault detection and control
• Design and own mission-critical software for satellite systems
• Develop rapid, iterative software for bench and development testing
• Plan and execute unit, integration, and system tests
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test, and operations teams to define requirements
• Support spacecraft commissioning during launch and early operations
