Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to lead the software that brings our spacecraft to life. You will work across mission ops, GNC, and hardware teams to architect, prototype, and deploy robust flight software that operates 24/7 across mission phases.

We value engineers who solve hard problems with rigor and practicality in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Space industry experience is not required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years writing C/C++ for embedded systems, ideally in spacecraft or related hardware.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Python, or Rust.
• Experience with flight software and embedded hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop low level software that configures and drives processor peripherals and interfaces.
• Write and debug device drivers for sensors, actuators, and bus components.
• Implement onboard algorithms including fault detection and closed loop control.
• Own mission-critical software lifecycle from architecture to deployment.
• Develop iterative software for bench testing and robust flight software for manufacturing.
• Plan unit, integration, and system testing; diagnose and fix defects.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test, and operations to define roadmaps.
• Support commissioning during launch and early operations.
