Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own the software that brings our spacecraft to life.

You will work on low-level processor configuration, device drivers, and onboard algorithms with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced aerospace environment. The role entails contributing across the full software lifecycle from architecture to deployment, including mission-critical flight software and on-board fault handling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years writing C/C++ for embedded systems, ideally in spacecraft, robotics, automotive, or other hardware that interacts with the physical world
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Rust
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or equivalent
• U.S. Citizenship (must access export-controlled data)
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access and SAP eligibility

Responsibilities

• Develop the low level software that configures and drives the processor peripherals and communication interfaces on our avionics
• Write and debug the device drivers for the sensors, actuators, and components across the bus
• Implement onboard algorithms, including closed loop control and fault detection/responses
• Design, develop, and own mission-critical software for satellite systems through all lifecycle stages
• Develop rapid, iterative software for bench testing and validated software for manufacturing and flight systems
• Plan and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing of satellite components
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test, and operations to define requirements and roadmaps
• Support spacecraft commissioning during launch and early operations
