Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer for an onsite contract-to-hire role in the Greater Los Angeles area. The team supports advanced flight, space, and ground systems and requires real-time embedded software development in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining embedded software for aerospace apps, working with RTOS environments, and ensuring lifecycle development from requirements through debugging, with active security

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong experience with C/C++ and object-oriented software development.
Experience with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS, RT-Linux, GH Integrity, Linux, or VxWorks.
Active Security Clearance or Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions for aerospace applications.
Develop software operating in resource-constrained environments with real-time performance requirements.
Implement complex data analysis, data routing, and control system algorithms.
Work with embedded processors, memory architectures, and I/O interfaces.
Develop procedural and object-oriented software using C/C++.
Support software throughout the full development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, integration, testing, and debugging.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in a laboratory environment.
Ensure compliance with software engineering standards and best practices.
