Cambridge Mobile Telematics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test, Embedded Firmware, to advance our testing footprint across hardware and software. You will develop and maintain firmware validation pipelines, leverage Linux servers, and collaborate with global teams to ensure robust, scalable test coverage.

The role combines software testing discipline with hands-on embedded firmware work, including Python test harnesses, C firmware development, and CI-driven release processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant working experience.
• Fluency in Python; familiarity with C.
• Comfort with Linux CLI and Linux system administration.
• Experience building and running tests in CI environments; bonus: tests on real embedded hardware.
• Knowledge of Docker, AWS, and Git.
• Collaborative with the ability to work with diverse teams across the globe.
• Balance speed and quality while prioritizing effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the test infrastructure for firmware validation.
• Ensure the health and functionality of firmware test systems on Linux servers and real devices.
• Extend test system capabilities by creating new tests to improve coverage and instrumentation for better failure visibility.
• Utilize Python for test harnesses and C for firmware development; work with embedded systems.
• Maintain web services for test coordination and result display via REST APIs.
• Complete additional tasks as they arise.
