Job summary

VOLTO Consulting in Warren, Michigan seeks an embedded software engineer to enhance firmware across CAN, LIN and Ethernet domains. You will work with Qualcomm SoCs on Ubuntu-based development, implement test automation, and contribute to vehicle integration efforts.

Responsibilities include LCCT V3 firmware, Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth modules, and TCP/WebSockets support, alongside cross-functional collaboration and system-level testing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with C/C++ and embedded firmware.
• Strong scripting in Python for automation and data analysis.
• Experience with CAN/LIN and Ethernet-based communications.
• Familiarity with bus analyzers and industry tools.
• Knowledge of Qt/embedded software architecture is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop LCCT V3 firmware, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules.
• Execute MCT software development, covering architecture and embedded test strategies.
• Work on Vehicle as a Tester and Software Integration.
• Develop solutions using TCP/Industrial Ethernet, WebSockets, and Ubuntu-based services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration and delivery.
• Perform Global Test System analysis including CAN/Ethernet debugging.
• Support database integration and system-level communication frameworks.

Job description

Strong expertise in C/C++ programming, Python will be added advantage

Hands-on experience in embedded firmware development

Proficiency in Python scripting for Test automation, log parsing, and data analysis

Experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet communication protocols

Hands-on experience with industry standard bus analyzing hardware & software tools

Knowledge of TCP / Industrial Ethernet and WebSockets

Experience in flash programming, Bootloader development and debugging

Understanding of software architecture and scalability

Experience with Qualcomm SoCs and Ubuntu-based development

Knowledge of embedded test strategy development

Familiarity with measurement and continuity testing

Experience in database integration (basic level)

Perform Global Test System Loose Piece Investigation including CAN/Ethernet communication analysis and debugging

Develop and support LCCT V3 firmware, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules

Execute MCT software development, covering architecture and embedded test strategies

Work on Vehicle as a Tester and Software Integration
