Job summary

Zebra Technologies is seeking an embedded firmware engineer for a hybrid role at our Lincolnshire, IL office. You will analyze, design, develop, and test firmware for our thermal printer product family and related platforms, focusing on reliability and performance.

Ideal candidates have extensive C/C++ experience, familiarity with ARM-based and RTOS environments, and a track record delivering complex firmware solutions within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering with relevant embedded firmware experience.
• Significant experience delivering platform product embedded firmware development.
• Proven experience in C/C++ programming.
• Experience with ARM architecture, embedded microcontroller architectures, multi-core systems, RTOS, embedded Linux, filesystems, storage, networking.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement embedded firmware for Zebra products.
• Lead moderately complex firmware design projects and review results.
• Improve existing firmware and develop new solutions for product lines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across design, test, and implementation processes.
