Job summary

Boyd Corp in Fredericksburg, VA, seeks a Senior Firmware Design Engineer for full lifecycle development of thermal control firmware. You will join a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to Linux-based applications using Qt/C++ and C for bare-metal targets.

Requirements: a Bachelor's in EE/CE/CS and 10+ years in embedded systems; experience with TCP/IP, I2C/SPI/RS-232, ADC/DAC/PWM, and PID tuning.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
10+ years of related experience.
4+ years experience in embedded system programming in C or C++.
Experience interfacing with TCP/IP, and I2C,SPI,RS-232.
Experience interfacing with low-level analog hardware via ADC,DAC, and PWM.
Ability to understand schematics and IC operation and designing low-level drivers.

Responsibilities

Full lifecycle development of custom thermal control application firmware.
Develop thermal control products involving a diverse set of custom thermal forcing hardware.
Maintain and enhance firmware on existing thermal products.
Support proof-of-concept studies.
Using tuning parameters to effect dynamic performance of feedback control systems.
